PVA-JAPAN Marketing & Public Relations Coordinator
Contract Term: Fiscal Year 2010 (Oct. 01, 2010 - SEPT. 30, 2011
Salary: US$3,500 - US$4,285 Monthly including benefits
Qualification: College graduate and at least 2 years experience in International Marketing and Public Relations. Applicants must reside in Japan and be able to speak, read, and write fluently in Japanese and English language. Office space shared with the Embassy of the Repbulic of Palau in Tokyo, Japan.
- Promote Palau as a choice and desirable travel destination within Japan through media, sales calls and seminars to travel agents, airlines and related entities. Professionally represent Palau as a choice and desirable travel destination and promote all aspects of Palau's tourism in a professional manner.
- Liase with airlines, travel agencies, special interest travel groups, etc. and enlist cooperation from these entities, when conducting special visits to Palau or conducting special events for Palau in Japan.
- Organize special events to generate awareness of Palau among potential travelers and travel packages in Japan, including but not limited to organizing press trips to Palau, travel agents visits, media blitz, etc.
- Assist Japan travel entities interested in promoting Palau as a choice and desirable travel destination by disseminating promotional collaterals, informing them of new facilities, services, products, sites, etc., in Palau. Provide response to inquiries about Palau to travel agents and consumers alike.
- Take proactive role in getting the appropriate media of television program to write about or show Palau's attraction besides scuba diving, e.g. sportfishing, cultural and historical tours, student exchange programs, homestay programs, etc.
- Continuously conduct assessment of the Japanese market, its impact on Palau, review Japanese travel trends and market trends to make educated forecast for PVA; conduct research to measure the trend of tourist to Palau from Japan, as well as other destinations by way of Japan.
